The role
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented researcher to co-ordinate the Test-Smart implementation study. This position is funded by a 5-year NIHR Programme Grant, aiming to optimise the use of blood tests to monitor long term conditions (hypertension, type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease) in primary care. During the first three years we have developed evidence based testing panels and accompanying patient and clinician materials; these will be implemented in the Test-Smart study in ten general practice sites, and rates of testing and patient reported outcomes will be compared to ten control GP practices. You will work with a multidisciplinary team including clinicians, statisticians, epidemiologists, health economists, qualitative researchers and patient and public representatives.
What will you be doing?
You will work closely with the Programme Manager to co-ordinate the Test-Smart study, including preparing documents for ethics approval, recruiting NHS GP practices, monitoring data collection, and contributing to academic outputs for the study. You will co-ordinate patient and public involvement and engagement activities. You will also work with a range of stakeholders including NHS organisations, other healthcare organisations, relevant charities and patient groups, to maximise the outputs and impact beyond academia. You will have opportunities for training and development and will be encouraged and supported to attend relevant courses.
