SALARY: Grade 5: £28,759- £33,966 per annum (pro-rata for part time appointments). Please note that with effect from 1st August 2024, all University employees on grades 1–10 of the main salary and grading structure will receive a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,500 per year (pro-rata for part time and hourly paid staff).

The Oxford School of Global and Area Studies

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Oxford’s School of Global and Area Studies (OSGA) Team as a Finance and Research Grants Officer on a part-time (0.5FTE, 18.25 hours per week) and three-year fixed term contract basis. This role also offers the opportunity for hybrid working, with a current expectation of at least 50% on-site work, with working days to include Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Finance and Research Grants Manager, the Finance and Research Grants Officer will manage a range of financial administrative activities in accordance with University financial controls. They will undertake transactional work across a range of modules in Oracle, compile financial reports for stakeholders and provide sound advice regarding financial processes and controls. The role includes financial administration of OSGA’s research and departmental grant portfolio. As part of a small team, the post holder will also be required to provide more general finance support and cover for colleagues as appropriate.

About You:

The post is very varied and stimulating, hence it will suit an individual who enjoys being part of a busy office in an environment of competing priorities. Applications are welcome from candidates with previous experience in finance administration, who are able to demonstrate a sufficient level of computer literacy, good communication skills and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate, independent work with little supervision.
