University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit an Assistant Professor in Applied Linguistics in School of Education and English

Your Responsibility

Your key responsibilities include:

To deliver teaching across a range of modules at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, preferably modules of corpus linguistics, language acquisition and research methods in Applied Linguistics,To provide curriculum leadership within own area of expertise. Be responsible for the design of course modules and/or programmes of study in specialist area and for their quality. Where appropriate identify the need for developing the content or structure of existing modules and make proposals on how this should be achieved. To supervise and examine Post Graduate, Masters and PhD students. To take the lead on, plan, develop and conduct individual and/or collaborative research objectives, projects and proposals either as an individual or as part of a broader programme. To establish a national reputation and regularly disseminate and explain research findings through leading peer-reviewed national publications (on a sustained basis), conferences and other appropriate media.

About You

Must have a PhD in Applied Linguistics or related. Experienced in teaching and tutorial work in relevant subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Sustained good track record of publication of international quality in peer reviewed journals. Securing internal and external research fund. Experience of previous administrative roles and team leadership skills

This is a permanent post that you will be offered a fixed term contract initially of 5 years with a probation of 6 months with University of Nottingham Ningbo China with effect from September 2024 or as soon as thereafter.
