UCL Department of Chemical Engineering is one of the top research and teaching departments in the UK and has world-class standing. The department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and has an extensive research portfolio across a wealth of areas, from molecular scale to complex systems.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role include:

  • To develop and implement suitable user-friendly graphical user interface for energy systems decision-making.
  • To develop and implement novel methods for energy systems optimisation under uncertainty.
  • To plan and execute real options and least regret analysis of hydrogen supply infrastructure to account for and manage risk under different scenarios (including use of hydrogen only for transport, or use if for both transport and heat).
  • Plan and prepare papers from own and related research to appropriate peer reviewed journals, international conferences and research seminars.
  • Collaborate with other PDRAs and PhD student team members for exchange of knowledge, best practice, as well as to carry out coordinated pieces of research.
  • Be responsible for producing regular progress reports for presentation to the project management group.

Salary for grade 7 appointments is fixed at £42,099 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
This is a fixed-term role for 17 months in the first instance.
