The Security department is a great place to work, from the moment you walk through the door on your very first day you are made to feel part of the team and the wider family of the university. We are more than just security, we are that friendly face for all arriving and/or staying on campus, whether you need directions, general enquiries or just advice.

What you will be doing:

The Security department at the University of Bradford are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work as part of a team, who has excellent customer service skills to provide a security presence in our Student Central building and the surrounding areas (including car parks and external footpaths).

 The main roles would be:

  • To provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors alike. The postholder will maintain a high level of customer service and be proactive in dealing with any issues that may arise.
  • To deal with and/or report any incidents that may arise, these might include health and safety breaches, misconduct, first aids and crimes. Making sure that the universities policies and procedures are adhered to, and serious occurrences are reported in the correct manner.
  • To help maintain an excellent public image to staff, students and/or visitors and to positively promote the university and what it has to offer.

 Qualifications and/or experience:

  • An SIA license (Door Supervisor) or the commitment to achieving this through the probationary period.
  • A first aid at work qualification or the commitment to achieving this.
  • Excellent communication skills, to be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of users face to face and in writing.
  • Has significant experience in providing excellent customer service, preferably within the security industry but this isn’t essential.
