The Role
This is a career-defining opportunity at the heart of a department that puts data at the centre of decision-making practices. You will join a close-knit group of academics who are behind a varied programme of research-led teaching and forward-thinking studies that develop graduates who are sought after for their skills, knowledge and ability to innovate.
You will develop, deliver and assess both new and existing business analytics modules to support undergraduate general business and postgraduate specialist analytics teaching. Throughout you will collaborate with industry partners to enhance real-world connections and provide students with practical insights that can be translated into real-world skills.
Research is, naturally, a key part of our make-up and you will engage in knowledge exchange, collaborative and individual research projects, attract funding and contribute to the impact and intellectual reputation of the school.
The Person
You will hold a doctorate with an analytics focus and bring with you a recognised teaching or learning qualification. By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained). You will demonstrate the potential to engage in applied business research at the cutting edge of technological and analytical trends and advancements.
On a personal level, going above and beyond to deliver an exceptional student experience will be your core motivation. With a keen interest in the application of analytics to business, you will impart practical skills and knowledge to empower students to succeed in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Constantly seeking to improve, you’ll scrutinise your own work, build private and public sector networks, and work collaboratively to enhance the faculty’s reputation in higher education and occupational circles.
The Faculty
The Faculty of Business and Social Sciences combines Kingston Business School and the School of Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences.
Practical experience and real-life learning are at the heart of our degrees. Our graduates will be equipped with the skills to manage and navigate a world that needs employees to be digitally skilled and to have highly developed people management skills, emotional intelligence as well as innovative, entrepreneurial drive.
