We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Mental Health Nursing programme academic team. The following posts are available:
Academic Posts Oxford base:
1.0 FTE Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Mental Health Nursing
For the above post there is an opportunity to apply for Lecturer or Senior Lecturer grade and both full time and part time applications are welcome.
Qualifications required for all posts:
Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse in the Mental Health field of practice.
For the Lecturer post: teaching experience and evidence of Master’s level study in a health related subject.
For the Senior Lecturer: a teaching qualification (or equivalent) and a Master’s degree in a health related subject and a willingness to undertake or evidence of doctoral level study in a health related subject.
Experience required for post:
For all posts: A clinical background in Mental Health nursing and experience in teaching/assessing at pre-registration undergraduate and postgraduate level. Evidence of supervising and teaching students in practice. Evidence of successfully managing and completing projects in a practice or educational setting. Evidence of research and/or scholarly activity commensurate with the stage of career.
In addition, for the Senior Lecturer post; experience of leadership with teaching and curriculum development in a Higher Education setting is essential.
Overall purpose of all posts: To deliver high quality education in mental health nursing to pre-qualifying students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects and dissertations; to participate in student recruitment; to support students in clinical placements and liaise with relevant stakeholders where appropriate.
In addition, for the Senior Lecturer post; to supervise students engaged in higher degree work by research.
