Salford Business School has a fantastic new opportunity for an International Academic Support Tutor. 

We are looking for someone experienced in supporting learning for international students with experience in postgraduate and undergraduate teaching to offer academic support relating to academic writing, analytical and critical thinking, good academic practice, and research skills to our postgraduate students, and to support postgraduate students to build academic skills ensuring alignment with credit-bearing assessments through timetabled activities.

Key responsibilities or requirements

  • Develop and deliver support sessions for both on-campus and virtual delivery
  • Teach and deliver sessions on learner development, academic skills, and research methods
  • Identify individual and group development needs for International and Home post-graduate students in conjunction with other academic colleagues
  • Provide, as appropriate, individual tutorial support for students and/or refer them to specialist support
  • Become familiar with the PGT academic lifecycle to ensure skill development is delivered at the point of need
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with programme teams, Student Progression Administrators, and central support services to ensure a co-ordinated approach to pastoral, discipline, and academic support
