University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Learning Technology Consultant 

Your Responsibility 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Align and embed different educational technologies in the teaching environment while closely collaborating with learning and teaching representatives within the faculties and catering for the technical and pedagogical needs of key stakeholders;
  • Deliver digital learning support services: plan, manage and deliver support for technology enhanced learning, including supporting the evaluation/testing of new and emerging learning support systems and services;
  • Identify needs for support and technologies; procure, pilot, roll-out and scale digital solutions;
  • Design, organise and deliver a wide range of technical and pedagogical staff development workshops;
  • Design, organise and deliver student digital literacy skills sessions;
  • Introducing and championing best digital learning, teaching and assessment practice;
  • Maintain knowledge of best practices, new initiatives and latest trends within the HE and digital learning sector and its impact on learning and teaching as a whole, including making appropriate recommendations where relevant;
  • Contribute to a successful team environment by sharing ideas, opinions, suggestions for changes and improvements;
  • Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the line manager and Library management;
  • Contribute to Library projects, meetings and events as required within the scope of the role.
  • Build acceptance of and promote digital teaching and learning solutions among stakeholders;
  • Maintain and develop relationships;
  • Build sustainable and long-lasting working relationships within the Library, CELE, the faculties, professional services supporting academic and teaching staff at all levels;
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the UK and Malaysia campuses with a focus on sharing best practice;
  • Manage the partnership with learning technology vendors with am emphasis on creating best value for money for the university and stakeholders.
  • Direct and lead learning technology projects;
  • Steer the scope and shape of work, ensuring cross departmental links are made, and that resources are prioritised in line with the Library priorities, Campus Development Plan, KPIs and other strategies;
  • Oversee the management of all aspects of the project lifecycle including planning, benefits realisation and closure;
  • Business case development and initiation;
  • Facilitating the agreement of project/programme scope and success criteria.

About You

  • First degree (or equivalent) or relevant experience
  • Track record of CPD activities
  • At least 1 year relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of audio/video, digital learning pedagogies and their application in HE
  • Experience of working with or supporting academics in HE to promote and support digital learning tools
  • Experience in design and development of learning resources
  • Experience in designing and delivering staff and student skills and development workshops
  • Experience supporting/working with an LMS and online assessments
  • Experience of planning and managing educational technology projects
  • Experience of working across organisational boundaries
  • Experience of working with colleagues from a range of professional and cultural backgrounds
  • Understanding of student digital skills development
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to organise one’s own work and work independently without supervision
  • Enthusiastic and proactive ‘can do’ approach
  • Team player and willingness to be flexible and adaptable
  • Customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to take charge of one’s own CPD
  • Ability to work to deadlines and deal with unforeseen issues and changing circumstances

This is a regular post that you will be offered a fixed term contract initially of 3 years with a probation of 6 months with University of Nottingham Ningbo China.
