The University of Buckingham has a unique atmosphere, unlike that of any other higher educational institution. Despite being the UK’s smallest university and the only independent university to hold a Royal Charter, Buckingham has staff from over 60 countries, making it a truly distinctive work environment. Whichever of our locations you find yourself working in, you will be sure to feel a part of our friendly community. Our size enables us to foster a very personalised, supportive, inclusive and collaborative environment, with lots of opportunity for development, something which we are very proud of.
The Corporate and Professional Services departments are the cornerstone of the University. They each provide essential and valuable support to both each other and the Academic departments, helping the University to function in the most efficient and productive way, ensuring that the students’ experience is second to none.
Reporting to the Head of Academic Services (Operations), this role is being offered as a 2 year fixed term contract/secondment as the current Deputy Head of Academic Services (Operations) will be taking up a 2 year secondment within the University. The core purpose of this role is to enhance the student experience by collaborating with stakeholders across the university to shape and deliver high-quality registry services. The role will provide leadership and management for the Operations team, a small team of professionals who are responsible for student registration, examinations, student academic records, production of transcripts and diploma library.
The successful applicant will have a proven background in delivering at least 1 area of the Operations team, be confident, proactive, and have good reporting and communication skills. Good customer service, teamwork and motivation are essential in this role as during this 2 year period the Operation teams will be implementing and embedding a new student system.
