Job Summary

The purpose of the role is to work closely with the College stakeholders the successful selection, implementation, and adoption of a new LMS platform that effectively meets the evolving needs of the College. You, as part of the wider project team, will play a critical role in supporting successful delivery of the project by representing and evaluating the requirements of the staff/students within the Faculty of Medicine (FoM) and stakeholders across the College. This will involve a range of activities throughout the lifecycle of the project from developing user requirements to conducting training for users and UAT of the new LMS. This role is crucial for enhancing the learning experience for students, streamlining and standardising processes and supporting our staff in delivering a high-quality educational experience for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as non-degree learners.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be an active member of the wider LMS project team, representing the Faculty of Medicine and working across the Faculty to identify common needs and requirements, ensure consistent solutions, and facilitate collaboration between stakeholders. As an experienced multitasker, you will easily navigate and balance delivery of multiple tasks to the project and Faculty. You will be able to show initiative and work autonomously, whilst following the provided guidance to achieve project objectives.

You will be a strong communicator, with experience of communication on a variety of channels to manage a diverse set of academic and support staff stakeholders.  You will participate in/coordinate briefings, demonstrations, resource creation and workshops for Students, Academic Staff, Teaching Fellows and Professional Services Staff to support the move to a new LMS.

Essential requirements

The essential requirements for this role are:

  • Degree or equivalent, preferably digital technology-related or comparable subject area
  • Experience of using digital technology to support education, ideally in a university environment. 
  • Demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for the use of digital technology in education
  • Experience of teaching/training others in the use of new digital systems and/ or software
  • Experience of user acceptance testing (UAT) of processes and methodologies
  • Experience of supporting or configuring a Learning Management System, ideally for a university
  • Experience of creating content and assessments within a Learning Management System, ideally with experience of supporting others to create these
  • Understanding of project management techniques and methods
  • Understanding of learning and teaching in higher education and the academic environment, particularly within Medical and Biomedical disciplines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders, including those without a technical background
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
  • Team player, able to work collaboratively across team boundaries to achieve a common organisational goal, understanding the needs, objectives and constraints of stakeholders in other disciplines and functions
  • Comfortable with leading workshops and testing / training facilitation
  • Able to show initiative and work autonomously

Further Information

This is a fixed-term appointment until July 2026 and secondments will be considered. This position is based at South Kensington Campus.
