Successful applicants for this post will work with the Senior Food Innovation Advisor and Food Innovation Advisor to deliver innovative and practical solutions, advice and high quality information to food and drink businesses of all sizes, but with a focus on supporting small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). The role holder will provide their support to Food and Drink businesses based on their knowledge and experience of the Division of Food, Nutrition and Dietetics facilities, knowledge, expertise, students and of global issues in the sector.
Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in Food science OR Food science and Nutrition, OR a Natural science (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Plant, Animal) AND a postgraduate degree in Food Science.
As part of a busy, dynamic team, you will need to have a good working knowledge of current market drivers and novel technologies in the food manufacturing sector together with excellent analytical and solution-provision skills – particularly in the field of Food Science.
Excellent communication, people management and customer service skills are essential, as is a knowledge of Health and Safety and relevant regulations in the Food Manufacturing sector.
Previous working experience in the food industry new product development or close to business R&D is essential.
The role is being offered on a full time (36.25 hours/week) fixed term contract to 31st July 2025. Job share arrangements may be considered.
