We trace our origins to the opening of Napier Technical College in 1964, built around the 16th century tower house that was the birthplace of mathematician John Napier. Following the 1992 Higher Education (Scotland) Act, Napier Polytechnic was inaugurated as Napier University. The institution was renamed Edinburgh Napier University in 2009 to better showcase our connections to the world-class city we are so fortunate to call home.
