As a result of continued significant investment in our new Sustainable Engineering and Technology provision, and our plans for rapid growth and expansion, we are looking to appoint a number of permanent senior academic staff across a range of Built Environment disciplines.
We are now looking for outstanding, innovative and experienced senior academics including a Professor / Associate Professor in Architecture and an Associate Professor in the Built Environment from any of the following disciplines: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying and Architectural Engineering.
This is a unique opportunity to join a newly formed team as we build this innovative and state-of-the-art education centre, currently undergoing sustainable refurbishment and redevelopment, funded by the Office for Students. Those joining our team will have the unique opportunity to be actively engaged in the development of new programmes, offering interdisciplinary project-based teaching and learning and significant industrial collaboration, in order to produce graduates who are industry ready. We will provide the flexible infrastructure and specialist equipment (technology-rich engineering and fabrication workshops, flexible teaching and design studio spaces, environmental, digital and CAD labs) to support its establishment and growth.
We work in collaboration with industry to address the green skills shortage identified and required by corporate and civic partners, and support the transition towards the UK Government’s commitment to meet net-zero targets by 2050. Our new and growing portfolio of programmes address specific and specialist areas of knowledge, in line with the skills focus and educational frameworks of the relevant professional bodies, but also the needs of national and regional employers. The portfolio will promote alignment with the United Nation’s Sustainable Develop Goals (SDG) and these will be embedded at the very core of our curricula.
New portfolio developments will be delivered across different modes of study including collaborative delivery with Further Education partners, Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQ), Degree Apprenticeships, and degree programmes from level 4 through to 7, to provide training for the next generation of Built Environment professionals, including critical retraining and upskilling opportunities for the existing workforce through short course provision.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to be part of the development and delivery team for our unique and innovative education centre, and to be part of the team that builds this pioneering facility over the next few years and beyond.
