Background

The Faculty of Finance, one of the largest finance groups in the UK, is home to world-leading academics with expertise in all key areas of finance. Incorporating diverse research communities including accounting; quantitative finance and data science; real estate finance and investment; shipping, international trade, and commodity finance. Bayes offers several finance and accounting focused degrees including Undergraduate, Postgraduate, PhD and executive PhD, MBA, and executive education. Our programmes and faculty benefit from our proximity to, and close links with, the City of London.

Responsibilities

The Faculty of Finance seeks to recruit two full-time Teaching Fellows in Banking and/or Finance for a fixed tenure of one year from September 2024 to August 2025. The fellowship is extendable for a second year. The rationale is to appoint promising scholars and educators, who are on track to meet the necessary qualifications for a Lectureship in the near future, to contribute to teaching and further their research activities. By mutual agreement, fractional (e.g., 0.5) appointments are feasible.

Personal Specification

You must have completed or be close to completing (i.e. PhD awarded or PhD thesis submitted) a PhD in Finance/Banking or a related discipline, that has a strong element of training in research methods. You will have a first degree and Masters and some teaching experience in finance or related disciplines at BSc and/or MSc level is required. This includes examination and coursework marking and working collegially in a professional setting.

Additional Information

The role is available from 2nd September 2024.

Interviews are scheduled for mid-June 2024.

The selection process will involve an interview and a research presentation. Further details will be confirmed at the interview stage.
