Annual Leave: 35 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our offices between Christmas & New Year

Main duties and responsibilities
To make significant contribution to the leadership of research in the department, including gaining research funding awards as Principal Investigator, the development of the research environment in the department and across the University and publishing in peer-reviewed journal articles and other internationally excellent or world-leading publications in education. As a member of the senior academic staff within the School, the postholder will be responsible and accountable to the Head of Department (or other managers e.g., Dean, Deputy Dean or Associate Dean) for all duties including day-to-day learning and teaching, research, enterprise and administrative activities.
Skills and experience required
The successful candidate will have a professional track record in Materials Science / Engineering and expertise and experience of teaching and assessing modules in the following Materials Science / Engineering subject areas:
Good interpersonal and presentation skills with proficiency in the English Language are essential with the ability to manage conflicting demands and work to deadlines.
Qualifications required
First Degree and a PhD or equivalents in an appropriate area of Materials Science / Engineering or an equivalent, relevant postgraduate professional qualification, plus Fellowship of Advance HE.
